  • Fixed a performance issue in OpenVDB rendering. Scene with relatively large amonts amount of textures (hundreds of megabytes) will have an acceleration between x2 and x3.
  • Automated texture optimization (conversion to TDL format) is now handled directly by 3Delight and not the plug-ins (concerns both Katana and Maya).Better error reporting for automatic texture optimization(see Handling of Textures) and with better error reporting.
  • Fixed timing statistics which showed in relation to the "other" category, which is usually marginal, as the the predominant timing category.
  • UDIMs render about 8% faster.
  • Fixed rendering of VDB volumes on 3Delight Cloud when renders are started from a Windows platform.

3Delight Display

  • Sequences rendered on the cloud now appear as a (un)foldable element in the side viewThe cloud rendering activity dialog now shows sequences as a single un-foldable item.
  • More consistant alignment of values with using the picker (using the "P" key). 
  • Better rendering presentation of the cross in the Lens Loupe tool. It is now perfectly center centered inside the shown pixel.

3Delight for Maya

  • Removed the texture directory workspace option . As this was the last path in that UI, the as the is now handled directly by 3Delight (see Handling of Textures).
  • The workspace UI has been completely removed.  As explained above, this functionality is now handled by 3DelightNSIremoved as it is now empty.

3Delight for Katana

  • Removed the texture directory preferences. As explained above, this functionality preference as the is now handled by 3DelightNSIdirectly by 3Delight (see Handling of Textures).

OLS Shaders

  • Improved presentation and variables naming in Car Paint and Principled.
  • Improved documentation for supported shaders.
Warning

3Delight Material is being deprecated and replaced by 3Delight Principled. The later provides all the functionality provided by 3Delight Material, plus the ability to render metals, with less parameters and better usability (such as better parameter ranges, better naming, and better UI).

The shader 3Delight Material is still part of the package for backward compatibility.
