Creating a Spot Light

A spot light can be created in the GafferThree's Object table by right-clicking in the light list section and selecting Add → Spot Light, or by pressing the Q key. It will be shown in the Viewer as a cone.

Shaping and Positioning a Spot Light

The Object tab serves to select the Spot Radius of the spot light. It also presents:

  1. The light's transform (which can be edited interactively in the Viewer).
  2. The option enable aim constraint which, if turned on, will display the standard GafferThree parameters for aim constraint.

Adjusting a Spot Light Shape Visibility

The spot light can be made Visible to Camera in the Object tab.

Controlling the Light from a Spot Light

The Material tab serves to control several parameters of the spot light. The effect of these are explained and illustrated in the next section.
