Enable Depth of Field
Activates the features
f/stop
The f/stop of the camera being used. In photography, f/stops usually define discrete steps (because of click-stopped apertures), each step represents a halving of the light intensity from the previous stop. In 3Delight for Softimage an f-stop can be any scalar, so a more accurate naming for this parameter would be f-number.
Focal Length
Focal Distance
Focal length and focal distance of the lens being used.
Get Focal Distance From Camera
When this option is on, the Focal Distance is determined from the camera center interest.
Extreme Motion Blur and DOF
When rendering effects with extreme motion blur and depth of field, the su- persampling as specified in Oversampling (see Quality) might not be enough to produce smooth images. This parameter lets the user control an alternate sampling algorithm that is well suited for this problematic case. The value specified here dictates the number of iterations of that specific algorithm and a value of 1 is generally enough to produce smooth results.
Enable Polygonal Aperture
This feature makes it possible to render depth of field effects (defocus) produced by many commercial cameras which rely on moving ’blades’ to close and open the aperture.
Number of Blades
Specifies the total number of blades in the aperture mechanism.
Rotation
Specifies the angle, in degrees, by witch the aperture blades are rotated.
Aperture Rotation
Specifies the angle, in degrees, by witch the aperture blades are rotated.
